NO SAUGERTIES CASINO!

14 Things You Can Do

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STOP THE CASINO

1.   Tell decision-makers what you think

  • James Cason, Acting Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior

  • George Skibine, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior

  • Sen. John McCain, chair of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee

2. Get your town on board

“No Casino” resolutions have been passed by the boards of 11 municipalities in Ulster County. The following have not yet voted on the issue: Ellenville (Village), Esopus, Hardenburgh, Hurley, Kingston (Town), Lloyd, Marlborough, New Paltz (Village), Rosendale, Shawangunk, Ulster and  Warwarsing.  If you live in one of the towns, call Susan at 246-1823 or email lobbying@NoSaugertiesCasino.org to get more information to persuade your local board. The more united we are, the more likely the County Legislature will be to oppose a casino.

3. Educate yourself

Learn about the effects of casinos on on other towns and states.  If you don’t have easy Internet access or if you want to read research reports, visit our storefront at 91 Partition Street (next to Café Tamayo; hours 3:30-5:30 p.m. Friday-Monday).

4. Join an Action Committee

keep out the casino. Please volunteer – your help is needed! Sign up using the Volunteer Form or by
